Any unique filename/extension will work – for example myprofile.txt or myprofile. The following example lines of text can be copied and pasted into the file as a template and then modified to suit. .. code-block:: description=Your Custom Profile Name frame_rate_num=30000 frame_rate_den=1001 width=1280 height=720 progressive=1 sample_aspect_num=1 sample_aspect_den=1 display_aspect_num=16 display_aspect_den=9 .. table:: :widths: 40 ======================================= ============================================================== Item Description ======================================= ============================================================== description choose a name for your profile. This name will appear in Openshot’s list of profiles. frame_rate_num, frame_rate_den the frame rate of your profile, expressed as a numerator and a denominator. For example, the values given in the template would give a frame rate of 30000/1001 ≈ 29.97, which is a common frame rate. The frame rate is commonly given as two numbers in this way to avoid rounding errors. width, height the width and height of the video in pixels. progressive whether or not the video is to be interlaced. 1 is ‘progressive’ (not interlaced); 0 is interlaced. sample_aspect_num, sample_aspect_den the aspect ratio of each pixel, expressed as a numerator and a denominator. Most commonly pixels are regarded as square, that is their width is the same as their height. display_aspect_num, display_aspect_den the aspect ratio of your video, expressed as a numerator and a denominator. Although the video width and height have already been specified, these numbers can help the software. ======================================= ============================================================== Save your file, and restart OpenShot. Your custom profile will then appear in the (alphabetically ordered) list of profiles. Technical note: some standard OpenShot profiles include a colorspace option – but this currently has no effect, and should be ignored.
